History & Background
Over 60 years in a variety of forms.
Originally the City Pound.
In the early days it was linked to the RSPCA but is now an autonomous organization.
Run by volunteers
Locally employed administration and kennel staff -> Supporting the local community and educating.
Services
Boarding animals whilst owners are out.
Grooming of dogs – shampooing, dipping, trimming and claws can be trimmed.
Rabies vaccinations – Tuesday and Fridays – 9.30 to 11.00.
Clinics daily – run by a qualified Vet based at the SPCA.
Microchipping of dogs and cats.
School visits for education & raising awareness in general public.
Dog training courses
Giving assistance to members of the community who have animals but are unable to afford veterinary care.
Helping schools, businesses and individuals control feral cat and dog populations.
Providing animals for adoption
